Comedy Central gives Broad City two more seasons, greenlights new Ilana Glazer pot comedy

We need more women’s voices in comedy and more diversity in media depictions of cannabis users, which is why it’s very fortunate we have great comedy shows such as Broad City. The third season is set to premiere on February 17, 2016, and The Hollywood Reporter recently reported that Comedy Central has renewed Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer’s Broad City for a fourth and fifth season. On top of that, a new show called Time Traveling Bong, a three-episode limited series co-created by Iliana Glazer and Broad City’s co-executive producers Paul Downs and Lucia Aniello, has also been greenlighted. Downs and Aniello are also working on a new mostly-women remake of 21 Jump Street, as well as a female-driven comedy described by Deadline Hollywood as The Hangover meets Weekend At Bernie’s.

Time Traveling Bong is about two cousins played by Glazer and Downs who discover a special bong which disrupts the space/time continuum allowing users to travel to different eras. The show will debut on Comedy Central on 4/20, following the season finale of Broad City and will air for three consecutive nights.
